Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at ONICON. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the mechanical design of various new products under development as well as mechanical improvement for existing products.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Designing and testing mechanical prototypes for electro-mechanical devices including enclosures and flow bodies.
- Creating & updating models, assemblies and detailed drawings.
- Performing structural and fluid flow analysis using FEA/CFD tools.
- Managing Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
- Evaluate designs to identify opportunities for simplifying components, substituting materials, and optimizing performance to reduce costs.
- All other related duties as required.
Knowledge and Skills Requirement:
- 3D design experience with SolidWorks or similar CAD software.
- Experience with a variety of metal and plastic fabrication techniques.
- Hands-on experience performing stress and fluid flow analysis using FEA/CFD tools.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience (5+ years preferred).
Additional Qualifications:
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with Product Data Management systems (SolidWorks PDM preferred).
- Solid understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Experience working with a multidisciplinary team.
- Experience working in Agile development environments; Scrum Master certification (CSM or equivalent) is a plus.
