Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Wood Veneer Department Manager with a strong background in wood technology and management experience. As the Department Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the production of our wood veneer sheets, ensuring quality standards are met, and leading a team of skilled craftsmen.
Responsibilities:
- Technical Expertise:
- Utilize in-depth knowledge of wood veneer characteristics, species, and production techniques to enhance product quality, grade and allocate to orders.
- Provide guidance on wood selection, cutting, and finishing processes to optimize veneer aesthetics.
- Quality Assurance:
- Implement and enforce quality control measures to guarantee the consistency and excellence of wood veneer sheets.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and address any potential issues in the production process.
- Managerial Leadership:
- Lead and motivate a team of skilled craftsmen, ensuring a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Oversee scheduling, production planning, and resource allocation to meet production targets and deadlines.
- Innovation and Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements within the wood veneer production process.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, technologies, and materials to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.
- Customer Collaboration:
- Collaborate with the sales and design teams to understand client requirements and contribute expertise to the development of customized wood veneer solutions.
- Act as a technical liaison with clients, providing expert advice and addressing any technical concerns.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Wood Technology, Forestry, or a related field is preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in wood veneer production.
- Proven managerial experience, demonstrating leadership skills and the ability to inspire and manage a team effectively.
- Strong knowledge of wood species, veneer cutting and splicing techniques
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Adept at problem-solving and critical thinking.
- Familiarity with industry trends, innovations, and sustainability practices.
