Job DescriptionMaintenance Technician – GMP Environment
Plantation Florida | Full-Time Permanent | No Sponsorship AvailableWe are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join a regulated GMP pharmaceutical/biotech environment. The successful candidate will maintain and repair equipment, systems, and facilities while ensuring compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).This role is hands-on, highly technical, and critical to supporting facility operations, quality, and product safety.Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily facility walk-throughs to verify operational condition of critical areas and equipment.
  • Execute preventive maintenance (PMs) on facilities, equipment, HVAC, and utility systems per monthly schedules.
  • Troubleshoot and perform unplanned maintenance for mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and utility systems.
  • Manage external contractors for maintenance and repairs when required.
  • Prepare spare parts, consumables, and materials for PM and shutdown activities.
  • Complete and upload documentation into the Quality Management System (QMS) and CMMS in a timely manner.
  • Participate in equipment/utility/HVAC investigations and corrective actions.
  • Maintain compliance with training requirements within the QMS.
  • Support facility construction activities and serve on the emergency response team (equipment malfunctions, alarms, hurricane readiness, etc.).
  • Ensure mechanical spaces and cleanroom environments are dust-free, organized, and GMP-compliant.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required; Associate Degree in Engineering preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in a GMP Pharmaceutical/Biotech environment.
  • Direct experience working in a cleanroom environment.
  • Strong mechanical skills, hands-on troubleshooting ability, and excellent documentation practices.
  • Proficiency with QMS, CMMS, and computer-based systems.
  • Experience with control systems (BAS/BMS, PLC, HMI).
  • Technical certifications preferred: EPA 608, HVAC, CEST, CMRT, or NCCER.
  • Ability to lift up to 55 lbs.
