Summary:
The Quality Assurance Auditor/Trainer provides FAA and regulatory guidance while managing internal audits. The QA will oversee inspecting our products recording quality issues and planning processes to decrease defects and errors. The Quality Assurance professional will report to the Director of Quality and shall coordinate daily reporting activities with the Director of Quality / Chief Inspector.
Responsibilities:
- Audit shop, processes, maintenance activities, and records for proper compliance.
- Act as a liaison with customers, and regulatory agencies, and support customer quality representatives.
- Maintain a list of maintenance functions to be contracted.
- Accomplish internal quality assurance checklist, scoring, and reporting.
- Develop and conduct training classes, both initial and recurrent training requirements.
- Maintain adequate records of discrepancies noted and corrective action taken.
- Handle recurring problems such as general housekeeping, engine handling, in-progress work, and tagging/storage of parts and components.
- Perform follow-up inspections to identify and prevent recurring problems.
- Provide administrative support to the Quality Assurance Department.
- Ensure technical manuals are always current and up to date.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Quality.
Qualifications / Requirements:
- FAA Airframe and Power Plant Mechanics license, with three years of auditing experience preferred.
- Must be familiar with FAA Regulations and possess advanced computer skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to handle controversial situations required.
- Advanced computer skills.
- Requires use of judgment in the analysis of issues to determine the proper action to be taken.
- Must be able to lift fifty (50) lbs. Subject to continual loud noises. Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, and stand for prolonged periods, climb steps, ladders, and/or service stands.
