Junior Windows Systems & Support Administrator
Four Squared Solutions is seeking a Junior Windows Systems & Support Administrator for an opportunity located in Fort Lauderdale, FL
Overview
- Deliver expert-level support for complex hardware, software, and application issues across desktop, laptop, and mobile devices (Windows and macOS).
- Troubleshoot and resolve intricate technical problems, ensuring minimal disruption to end users.
- Manage user access, permissions, and policies within Active Directory and Azure Active Directory.
- Oversee workstation imaging, deployment, and patch management processes.
- Provide ongoing support for Microsoft 365 suite, collaboration tools, and remote access solutions.
- Serve as the final point of escalation before issues are passed to system or network engineers.
Systems & Infrastructure Support
- Assist with the administration of Windows, Azure, and VMware/Hyper-V server environments.
- Support backup, disaster recovery, and system monitoring tasks.
- Play an active role in system patching, updates, and configuration management.
- Help maintain key network components, including switches, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless infrastructure.
- Document technical procedures, troubleshooting steps, and system configurations for future reference.
Security & Compliance
- Contribute to IT security efforts, including endpoint protection, antivirus management, and access controls.
- Monitor, assess, and respond to security incidents under the direction of the IT Manager.
- Assist with compliance-related activities, including ISO/SOC audits and system hardening procedures.
Projects & Collaboration
- Support IT initiatives such as system upgrades, software migrations, and the implementation of new technologies.
- Collaborate with vendors and the parent companys IT teams to resolve issues and drive joint initiatives.
- Offer suggestions for improving desktop support processes and enhancing the overall user experience.
Knowledge & Experience
Required
- Associates or Bachelors degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 24 years of experience in IT support, with at least 12 years of hands-on Level 2 or 3 desktop support.
- Proficient in both Windows and macOS operating systems.
- Solid experience with Active Directory and Azure AD administration.
- Familiarity with Mobile Device Management (MDM) tools such as Intune, JAMF, or similar.
- Practical experience with Microsoft Office 365 and related productivity tools.
- Strong understanding of networking basics, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPNs.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a strong customer-service orientation.
- Ability to explain technical issues in simple terms to non-technical users.
Preferred
- Experience working with VMware or Hyper-V virtualization technologies.
- Knowledge of SAN/NAS storage systems and backup management tools.
- Previous experience supporting VOIP systems.
- IT certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, MCSA, or equivalent are a plus.
