We are seeking a Wireless Quality Control Specialist (WQCS) who is responsible for overseeing the construction and design aspects of telecommunication towers, with a primary focus on increasing cellular communication bandwidth within the carrier-driven industry. This role ensures adherence to stringent design and construction standards from project inception, working collaboratively with construction crews to maintain high-quality outputs and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Manage construction crews assigned.
- Works with carrier construction engineers as their eyes and ears in the field.
- Review and redline A&E deliverables and construction deliverables for quality and construction standards.
- Create RFP/SOW documents to get contractor POs in place with carriers.
- Performs power audits on varying site types.
- Reviews closeout documents to close out completed projects per carrier standards.
- Review structural documents to ensure all equipment has been captured and provide redlines as needed.
- Ability to travel as needed.
- Lead weekly update calls with GC’s and be on weekly update calls with clients and carriers
- Perform site audits to ensure buildable conditions. Document all existing site conditions as specified by the Project Manager or Project Supervisor.
- Provide accurate measurements and documentation of the site audits and ensure all co-workers are aware of any potential issues that may inhibit the project.
- Perform onsite utility coordination with the local utility provider.
- Help the Project Manager or Project Supervisor on any additional assigned tasks as needed.
- Ensure confidentiality of company information.
- Individuals in this role receive privileged access and are assigned specialized training at least once a year.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3-5 years of direct experience in wireless telecommunications construction or field-based quality control roles.
- Demonstrated proficiency in interpreting and redlining Architectural & Engineering (A&E) deliverables, construction drawings, and structural documents.
- Strong understanding of wireless telecommunication design, construction, and quality standards, including specific carrier requirements.
- Knowledgeable of wireless regulations and safety standards, with at least OSHA 10 certification.
- Advanced certifications such as OSHA 30, RF Safety Training, CPR, First Aid, and Bloodborne Pathogen trained.
- Expertise in industry-specific software like Bluebeam and Adobe Professional for document review and markups.
- Familiarity with specific wireless equipment and testing procedures (e.g., JMA Upconverter, CommScope RET).
- Knowledge of specific grounding standards (e.g., R56 Grounding Standards).
- Comprehensive understanding of the wireless industry, including infrastructure development processes, zoning, permitting, civil construction, and radio frequency equipment installation.
- Previous experience as an "eyes and ears in the field" liaison for carrier construction engineers.
- Experience in conducting site audits, performing power audits, and documenting site conditions accurately.
- Proven ability to manage and communicate effectively with on-site construction crews and subcontractors.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience leading project update calls and creating technical documentation.
- Proficiency in relevant software for project documentation and review, such as Microsoft Office Suite.
- Highly responsible, resourceful, accurate, dependable, and self-motivated, with strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to travel as needed for site visits and project requirements.

Shift is full-time Monday – Friday between the hours of 8:00 am – 5:00 pm CST. Must be flexible, and willing and able to work outside normal business hours as necessary.
Additional Information
- Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
- Approximately 50% overnight travel, as needed, to complete job responsibilities.
