Job Summary: As a Front Desk Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for our patients, visitors, and staff. Your role is crucial in providing a positive and efficient experience for everyone who enters our facility. You will be responsible for handling incoming calls, scheduling appointments, greeting patients, maintaining patient records, and ensuring the smooth functioning of the front desk area. This position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced medical environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet and welcome patients, visitors, and staff with a friendly and professional demeanor.
  • Answer incoming phone calls, provide information, and direct calls to the appropriate department.
  • Schedule and confirm patient appointments, making sure the schedule is well-coordinated and organized.
  • Register new patients, update patient information, and verify insurance details accurately.
  • Collect and process patient co-payments, ensuring accurate record-keeping.
  • Maintain a tidy and organized front desk area, ensuring it is stocked with necessary supplies.
  • Coordinate with medical staff to ensure timely patient flow and minimize wait times.
  • Assist in handling patient inquiries and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Retrieve and distribute mail, packages, and faxes promptly.
  • Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a front desk receptionist or in a similar customer service role is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficient in using computer systems and electronic medical records (EMR) software.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance procedures is a plus.
  • Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish) is highly desirable.
