Associate Dean, Academic Affairs (RN to BSN)

Job Description

The purpose of the job is to serve in a management and leadership capacity reporting to the appropriate Academic Dean or Administrator for the responsibility of overall department operations in accordance with college policies, procedures and contractual agreement, and in support of the overall plan of the college. Employees in this job classification are responsible for the comprehensive coordination and administration of all matters relating to personnel, students, scheduling curriculum implementation, external agencies, instruction, and all financial considerations relating to the department, and accomplishes such in coordination with the colleges' mission and college wide goals and campus-based initiatives. Associate Deans provide leadership for all instructional programs which may include all or some of the courses within the associate degrees as well as vocational and technical certificates. Performs related work as directed.

Minimum Education:

• Master of Science in Nursing degree required; Doctorate Degree in Nursing or related field preferred.

Minimum Experience/Training:

• Requires three years teaching experience in Nursing at the postsecondary level, with a history of demonstrated leadership roles in educational settings.
• History of demonstrated leadership roles in educational settings with increasing responsibility in past positions and demonstrate abilities in communication, leadership, management, teamwork, critical thinking, organizational skills, analytical skills, problem solving, conflict resolution and long range or strategic academic planning skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication, financial management and budget design skills.
• Demonstrated excellence in teaching and scholarly/creative research in higher education.
• In-depth knowledge of Nursing.

Minimum Certification/Licenses:

• Must have current and active Registered Nurse License from the State of Florida with no history of suspension or having any action taken against that license.

Salary Range: $81,900 - $94,185 Salary commensurate with education and experience.
