Watercrest Buena Vista, is looking for a for a motivational and service-minded Get Active Coachwho is passionate about promoting movement, vitality, and holistic wellbeing for our residents. Empowering seniors to live stronger, move with confidence, and embrace each day with purpose. This isn’t just a fitness role—it’s a mission. As a Get Active Coach, you’ll serve as an inspiring leader and trusted guide, helping residents stay active through thoughtfully designed movement programs that support strength, mobility, and joy in everyday living.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Design a unique class schedule with multiple offerings throughout the day a minimum of five days per week.
  • The Get Active Coach will be responsible for identifying goals, creating tailored exercise plans for 1:1, and group sessions.
  • Exercise classes and the session should be developed to increase strength, improve fitness levels, and meet the residents' personal fitness goals.
  • Familiarize residents with and promote the use of fitness equipment.
  • Track resident progress, attendance, and results using the company’s preferred solution.
  • Incorporate and contribute to technology-based fitness program using the company’s preferred solution.
  • Champion movement and fitness throughout the organization.
  • Lead educational programs to promote an active and wellbeing culture.
  • Must in company uniform and resident ready at all times.
  • Performs other related essential duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Demonstrated record of success in a fitness field with Seniors
  • Able to communicate effectively with all levels of management
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Passion for working with seniors
  • Knowledge of fitness and movement programs
  • Knowledge and understanding of the mission and purpose of Watercrest Senior Living Group

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science, Personal Training, or another relevant course of study or equivalent experience
  • Licensure or Certification in Fitness related field

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong instruction skills with a minimum of three but preferably five years of experience in a relevant position
  • A minimum of three (3) years experience in a Senior Fitness Related Role
  • Deep knowledge of movement and exercise programs

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The following physical demands are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this position:

  • Able to stand or walk 75% of the day
  • Able to concentrate with frequent interruptions
  • Able to work under stress and in emergencies
  • Able to work under conditions that require sitting, standing, walking, reaching, pulling, pushing, and grasping
  • Able to talk and hear effectively to convey instructions and information to residents and team members
  • Occasionally lift/carry up to 50 pounds

OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE / PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT:

  • Work in all areas of the community.
  • Subject to reactions from dust, disinfectants and cleaning chemicals and may be exposed to infectious waste, diseases, and other conditions.
  • Use personal protective equipment and supplies when needed to prevent burns, falls, and infection.
  • Personal protective equipment includes infection control kit, rubber gloves, and non-slip shoes.
  • Subject to infectious diseases, substances, and odors.
  • Follow Safety Policy & Procedures.
