Job Overview
We’re looking for a Senior Shop Technician to support shop operations and help complete customer orders. Under the guidance of shop leadership, you’ll take on tasks assigned by management or internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect electrical and mechanical equipment for any visible issues upon arrival.

• Troubleshoot, test, repair, modify, or rebuild various electrical systems and equipment, which may include transformers, circuit breakers, or switchgear (low/medium voltage). Tasks might also involve welding or painting, depending on the location.

• Prepare and submit test reports following company and customer requirements.

• Continuously work to improve efficiency, reduce turnaround time, and collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations.

• Communicate with your supervisor or team lead about job progress and any issues.

• Work as part of a team, sharing information and ensuring customer needs are met.

• Keep your work area clean and follow all safety rules and company policies.

• Provide guidance and training to less experienced shop techs as needed.

• Be available to work evenings or weekends, if required.

• Occasionally provide technical support at offsite locations.

• Perform other duties as needed.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.

• At least 5 years of related experience.

• Familiarity with safety regulations (e.g., OSHA).

• Understanding of standards like NETA, IEEE, NFPA.

• Hands-on experience with various electrical equipment (low/high voltage).

• Strong troubleshooting and mechanical skills.

• Basic computer knowledge for tasks like data entry and report creation.

• Good communication skills—both written and verbal.

• Ability to follow written and spoken instructions, work with a team, and meet customer expectations.

• Valid driver’s license (if driving a company vehicle is required).
