Job DescriptionSummary

The Sears Institute of Anti-Aging Medicine is seeking a Hyperbaric Technician with a passion for regenerative medicine and concierge-level patient care. As part of our clinical team, you will operate and maintain hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) equipment, monitor patients during treatments, and ensure the highest safety standards. You will play a vital role in delivering compassionate care while supporting patients undergoing advanced regenerative therapies.

The ideal candidate brings strong technical knowledge of HBOT operations along with the ability to provide reassurance, education, and support to patients. You will work closely with physicians, medical assistants, and other staff to maintain smooth clinical operations and uphold our patient-first standards of care. You will support Dr. Al Sears’ mission of helping patients reverse the effects of aging naturally and restoring vitality through cutting-edge, evidence-based therapies.

Requirements

What You’ll Do

Patient Care & Safety

  • Operate, monitor, and maintain HBOT chambers following clinical and manufacturer safety protocols.
  • Monitor vital signs, document patient progress, and respond promptly to patient needs or emergencies.
  • Educate patients before, during, and after treatment to ensure confidence and understanding.
  • Provide reassurance and compassionate support to patients who may feel nervous or claustrophobic.

Equipment & Compliance

  • Perform regular safety checks, maintenance coordination, and cleaning of HBOT chambers.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of treatments in electronic medical records.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and internal SOPs.
  • Report and escalate any technical or patient safety concerns immediately.

Collaboration & Clinic Support

  • Work closely with physicians, medical assistants, and the front desk to coordinate patient schedules.
  • Support clinical staff with patient flow to minimize delays or bottlenecks.

Key areas of ownership that you will drive forward for the organization personally, and collaborating cross-functionally

  • Operation and Maintenance: Setting up, operating, and maintaining (routinely & cleaning) hyperbaric chambers and related equipment, ensuring proper function and safety. 

  • Patient Monitoring: Observing patients during hyperbaric oxygen therapy, monitoring vital signs (blood pressure, heart rate, etc.), and reporting any changes or adverse reactions to the physician. 



  • Treatment Administration: Administering hyperbaric oxygen therapy according to physician's orders, ensuring proper oxygen flow, pressure, and treatment duration. 



  • Safety and Emergency Response: Maintaining a safe environment within the hyperbaric chamber, following safety protocols, and responding to emergencies such as fire, equipment malfunction, or patient distress. 



  • Documentation: Accurately documenting patient treatment information, including vital signs, treatment details, and any adverse events, in the patient's medical record. 


  • ​​Patient Education: Provide clear instructions and education to patients about HBOT treatments.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with physicians, medical assistants, and front desk staff to ensure seamless patient flow by being a team player and supporting patients with necessary tasks such as answering phones, prepping charts, and pulling labs.


  • Patient Care Quality: Deliver concierge-level service, ensuring every patient feels safe, informed, and cared for.

  • Familiarity with regenerative and anti-aging medicine is a plus.
  • Quality Improvement: Participating in quality improvement activities, such as chart audits, and development of SOPs and equipment checks, to ensure the highest standards of care. 



  • Strong Patient Communication: Ability to reassure patients who may be nervous or claustrophobic.
  • Patient Support: Ability to remain calm and decisive in emergency scenarios.
  • Detail-oriented approach to equipment checks and patient monitoring.

Medical Requirements

  • You must already hold a valid professional healthcare or allied credential—this includes roles such as Registered Nurse (RN), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Respiratory Therapist, EMT/Paramedic, Physician Assistant, Nurse Practitioner, or active-duty Military Corpsman.

30‑60‑90 Day Expectations

Within 30 Days, You’ll:

  • Week 1: Complete onboarding and compliance training.
  • Week 1: Shadow providers and staff to understand patient workflows.
  • Complete onboarding in Sears’ concierge care model and HBOT safety protocols.
  • Shadow experienced technicians and observe patient flow.
  • Learn patient intake, monitoring procedures, and documentation systems.

Within 60 Days, You’ll:

  • Independently operate HBOT chambers under supervision.
  • Manage patient flow confidently, educating patients and ensuring safety.
  • Begin contributing feedback on improving HBOT room efficiency and patient comfort.

Within 90 Days, You’ll:

  • Independently manage full HBOT caseloads.
  • Recognized for calm, compassionate patient care and meticulous safety standards.
  • Propose improvements in equipment upkeep and patient education materials.
  • Propose SOP/process improvement and ability to mentor newer teammates on protocols you’ve mastered.

Work Hours & Reporting

  • Standard schedule Mon–Fri, 9:00 a.m.–5:00/6:00 p.m. with opening/closing responsibilities. Weekends available
  • Reports to Clinic Manager/Physician.
