Endocrinology & Diabetes Consultants, the office of Dr. Gulnaz Mirza, is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a vital part of our patient care, providing both clinical and administrative support. A key responsibility will be performing phlebotomy, so strong skills in drawing blood are essential. You will help create a welcoming and efficient environment for our patients, supporting the smooth operation of our practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform phlebotomy on patients of all ages, ensuring proper specimen collection, labeling, and handling.

  • Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, including taking vital signs, medical histories, and chief complaints.

  • Assist the physician during examinations and minor procedures.

  • Administer injections and perform other in-office treatments as directed by the physician.

  • Prepare and stock examination rooms, ensuring they are clean, organized, and properly supplied.

  • Manage patient flow, communicating with patients and staff to minimize wait times.

  • Document patient information accurately in the electronic health record (EHR).

  • Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing patient calls, and processing referrals.

  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.

  • Proven experience with phlebotomy/venipuncture. A certification in phlebotomy is highly preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology and endocrinology/diabetes care is a plus.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
