Bachelor's degree from an ASHA-accredited university, active Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) license and minimum 1+ years speech-language pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This opportunity is ideal for a Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) seeking a full-year contract working with a pediatric outpatient school-aged population. Located in Homestead, FL, this role supports children from ages 2 to 18 in a K-12 school setting, focusing on a variety of speech and language developmental areas. The position offers a structured, low-stress environment with no travel required and an excellent professional team to collaborate with.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide speech language pathology assistance to children with mild to moderate communication challenges
- Support students diagnosed with high-functioning autism, addressing social pragmatics, receptive and expressive language skills, articulation, reading, and writing delays
- Conduct individual therapy sessions, typically seeing one child per hour
- Collaborate with speech-language pathologists and educational staff to implement treatment plans
- Maintain documentation and progress notes in accordance with school and clinic guidelines
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Certified Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) with experience in school and healthcare settings
- Comfort working with pediatric populations in outpatient clinic environments
- Familiarity with managing caseloads involving autism and language disorders
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
