Job SummaryThe Engineering Technician performs diverse and complex assignments supporting product development. Responsibilities include setting up and running data acquisition equipment for tests, conducting experiments, troubleshooting, and documenting test results. The role requires independent judgment and initiative to assist in evaluating engineering models and contributing to the overall product development process.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate data acquisition equipment for product testing.
- Carry out experiments and diagnostic tests to identify root causes and support problem resolution.
- Troubleshoot subsystems and occasionally full systems using logical problem-solving techniques.
- Evaluate software and hardware components, implement test plans, and analyze system interactions.
- Provide technical feedback and leadership in the development and improvement of engineering, manufacturing, and service documentation.
- Utilize technical communication skills throughout the product development cycle to improve internal models and externally sourced components regarding system performance, reliability, functionality, and serviceability.
- Develop and execute training plans as required.
- Contribute effectively as an individual team member to achieve project goals.
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree, or High School diploma with 2 years of technical experience.
- Proficient troubleshooting skills at the subsystem and occasionally system level.
- Ability to interpret test data, identify malfunctions or deviations, and assist in design or process corrections.
- Strong ability to understand and interpret technical documentation.
- Proficiency in using computerized work systems.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work well under general direction.
- Commitment to staying current with evolving technology.
- Ability to communicate effectively in the local language.
