Job Description

Earth Systems is not your average environmental consulting firm. We’re hands-on, collaborative, and committed to solving real-world geotechnical and environmental challenges with technical excellence and regulatory know-how. If you want your work to matter—and have the autonomy to lead it—we want you on our Florida-based team.

We are seeking a Geotechnical Engineer with a background in Geology, Environmental Science, or Environmental Engineering who thrives in a multidisciplinary environment. Candidates must reside in Florida and have direct experience with Florida regulations and field conditions. This is a field-forward position with a focus on practical problem-solving and project leadership in the Southeastern region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct geotechnical investigations including site reconnaissance, subsurface explorations, soil/rock classification, and in-situ testing
  • Analyze data for foundation design, slope stability, settlement analysis, and pavement recommendations
  • Prepare detailed geotechnical reports with practical engineering solutions
  • Develop project scopes, proposals, and budgets; assist with project management and client communications
  • Oversee field exploration programs, coordinate lab testing, and ensure QA/QC on deliverables
  • Work closely with regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with FDEP, FDOT, and other Florida-specific environmental/geotechnical regulations
  • Mentor junior staff and support business development through local networking and technical presentations

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Geology, Environmental Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience in geotechnical engineering or applied environmental consulting
  • PE or the ability to obtain PE in Florida within 12 months
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, gINT, GeoStudio, or similar software
  • Strong writing skills and experience preparing detailed technical reports
  • Current driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites across Central Texas

What We Offer:

  • Competitive salary ($90,000–$115,000 based on experience)
  • Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance
  • 401(k) with company match
  • PTO, holidays, and flexible field scheduling
  • Mileage reimbursement
  • Paid training, certifications, and continuing education
  • Growth-focused culture with a seat at the table

Must be authorized to work in the United States. Sponsorship is not available for this position.
