Overview:
The Primary Therapist is a key clinical role responsible for providing individual and group therapy to patients participating in Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) and Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP). This position ensures the delivery of high-quality care through comprehensive treatment planning, case management, and therapeutic interventions.
Key Responsibilities:
Therapeutic Services:
- Conduct individual, group, and family therapy sessions utilizing evidence-based practices.
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
- Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to achieve therapeutic goals.
Case Management:
- Coordinate with healthcare providers, case managers, and support staff to ensure integrated patient care.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for patients’ families, providing updates and support as needed.
- Maintain timely and accurate documentation of all therapeutic interactions and case management activities.
Clinical Assessments:
- Perform comprehensive clinical assessments to determine patients’ mental health and substance abuse needs.
- Utilize assessment findings to inform diagnosis and treatment planning.
Compliance and Ethics:
- Adhere to all clinical protocols, ethical guidelines, and regulatory standards in delivering patient care.
- Participate in clinical supervision, staff meetings, and ongoing professional development activities.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field.
- Licensing/Certifications:
- Must hold a valid and active license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of Florida.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in mental health or substance abuse treatment settings, preferably in IOP or PHP.
- Skills:
- Strong therapeutic and case management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
- Primarily office-based with some off-site visits as needed.
- Requires sitting, standing, and occasional light lifting.
