Overview:

The Primary Therapist is a key clinical role responsible for providing individual and group therapy to patients participating in Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) and Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP). This position ensures the delivery of high-quality care through comprehensive treatment planning, case management, and therapeutic interventions.

Key Responsibilities:

Therapeutic Services:

  • Conduct individual, group, and family therapy sessions utilizing evidence-based practices.
  • Develop and implement personalized treatment plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to achieve therapeutic goals.

Case Management:

  • Coordinate with healthcare providers, case managers, and support staff to ensure integrated patient care.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for patients’ families, providing updates and support as needed.
  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation of all therapeutic interactions and case management activities.

Clinical Assessments:

  • Perform comprehensive clinical assessments to determine patients’ mental health and substance abuse needs.
  • Utilize assessment findings to inform diagnosis and treatment planning.

Compliance and Ethics:

  • Adhere to all clinical protocols, ethical guidelines, and regulatory standards in delivering patient care.
  • Participate in clinical supervision, staff meetings, and ongoing professional development activities.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field.
  • Licensing/Certifications:
    • Must hold a valid and active license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of Florida.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in mental health or substance abuse treatment settings, preferably in IOP or PHP.
  • Skills:
    • Strong therapeutic and case management skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
    • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

  • Primarily office-based with some off-site visits as needed.
  • Requires sitting, standing, and occasional light lifting.
