Job Description

Pool Attendant is responsible for maintaining a safe and clean aquatic recreational area for guests or residents. Also required to enforce the rules and regulations regarding the pool usage.

  • Duties and essential functions

    • Welcoming and Greeting residents & guests.
    • Continuously walks the pool areas to ensure residents are complying with Association Rules and Regulations (no coolers, no glass containers, no outside food & beverage, no F&B within 5 feet of the pool, no horseplay in or around the pool). At minimum a lap is to be done 3 times per hour.
    • Maintains a clean and welcoming environment for all guests. Responsible for blowing off the pool deck daily, pressure washing areas as needed,
    • Set up umbrellas and the cabanas, Opens umbrellas at tiki bar (Wednesday- Sundays).
    • Assist residents with setting up lounge chairs, umbrellas, and other pool area equipment.
    • Maintains visibility in the pool area in case guests require assistance.
    • Remove trash, dirty dishes etc.
    • Report any malfunction immediately to Manager on Duty.
    • Maintain and organize the pool furniture.
    • Monitors music levels throughout the day and adjusts as necessary.
    • Sets up movie theater equipment as needed.
    • Set up/takes down tent for scheduled entertainment and stores tent in proper location.
    • Complete daily check list.
    • Any other duties as assigned by management.

Work Environment
The position will be mostly outdoors, near a pool. Moderate noise level.

Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The employee is occasionally required to sit, stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing 25 pounds or less. The position requires manual dexterity; auditory and visual skills; and the ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures. This position will require long periods of standing and walking, as well as working outdoors.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a non-exempt (hourly) position. Days and hours will be determined by the property. The schedule may change to accommodate the business needs of the property.

Required Education and Experience

  • Prior experience in a related position.
  • Experience at a luxury property or hotel is strongly preferred
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent;
  • The ability to work in a busy, luxury, and fast-paced environment.
  • Must convey a positive and “can-do” attitude at all times, including during high-stressful situations.
  • Must be able to work well in a collaborative environment with various team members in other departments.
  • Must be able communicate effectively with other team members and guests.
