The Generator Field Services\nEngineer provides field engineering oversight on all types of generator\nwork 1560 hours per year. The successful candidate performs inspection,\ntesting, communicates to customers both internal and external, and provides\ncrew supervision. Typical work weeks while in the field range from 60-91 hours\nper week.
Seasonal Generator Field Services\nEngineer provides field engineering oversight on all types of generator\nwork for a minimum of 1560 hours per year. This position offers 4 months of\noptional work time to help with the employee’s work-life balance.
The Generator Field Services\nEngineer provides the same support but does not have optional working\nmonths.
These positions are part of the Turbine and\nGenerator Specialty Services based in Region North America but serve customers\nglobally.

How You’ll Make an Impact
- \n
- Conduct\n electrical and mechanical specialty testing (low and high voltage) as\n required; Perform visual inspections, and collaborate with engineering to\n provide recommendations to the customer about potential unit repairs.
- Prepare\n and forward accurate reports concerning the condition and repairs and\n recommendations for customer equipment
- Ensures\n all work is performed per approved processes and procedures while\n maintaining the highest levels of safety and quality.
- The\n Seasonal Generator Field Service Engineer works directly with our leading\n staff of field service engineers to develop skills that include equipment\n operation, maintenance, job site safety, project management, leadership,\n and Siemens Energy’s business systems
- The\n Generator Field Service Engineer, may supervise technicians working on\n generator equipment during power plant maintenance shutdowns (outages),\n both planned and unplanned system outages which can occur due to equipment\n performance issues, based on experience.
- Collaborate\n with our worldwide engineering staff to perform specialized mechanical and\n electrical testing; You will serve as the primary customer contact during\n outages and ensure that repairs are made in a timely and accurate manner

What You Bring – Seasonal Role
- \n
- Bachelor’s\n degree in engineering or similar field required.
- Minimum\n of 6 mos experience in field service is preferred; Candidates with more\n experience may be eligible for a more senior level position.
- Working\n knowledge of large electrical apparatus, including but not limited to,\n generator inspection, testing, generator rewinds and repairs; This\n position is 100% REMOTE due to 100% travel is required.

Generator Field Services Engineer

- You\n have or are currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in engineering,\n engineering technology, or related field.
- Must\n be willing to travel for extended periods of time. (Typical travel is\n 200-250 days per year for anywhere from 2-15 weeks at a time; While\n deployed, expect extended working hours of up to 12-14 hours per day\n including weekends/holidays, 6 – 7 days per week.)
- Must\n be able to ascend/descend ladders to examine equipment, including confined\n spaces, move boxes weighing up to 40 pounds, work in outdoor weather\n conditions, walk long distances and share cramped office trailer with\n other employees
