Summary: This is a professional mental health therapy and counseling in a healthcare or communitybased
setting. The nature of the work is primary prevention and treatment of individuals and or families
who are experiencing emotional and/or behavior difficulties, school problems or substance abuse issues.
Work includes case conceptualization and analysis of problems presented, development and
implementation of effective treatment plan or intervention with periodic assessment of the
effectiveness of the determined intervention (s). This position assists patients in achieving highest
physical, mental, and psychosocial level of functioning. Employees in this position participate in care
plan development, counseling of patients, discharge planning, psychosocial assessments.
Work is performed under the general supervision of a supervisor and is reviewed through case review,
reports, and the effectiveness of services provided.
