Floral Assistant
Summary: Assists the Floral Designer with live, cut, dried and artificial floral and foliar arrangements to assist with creating and delivering decorative displays for special events by performing the following duties:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Assists with the retrieval and delivery of floral inventory.
- Trims material and assists with arranging bouquets, spray, wreaths, dish gardens, terrariums and other items using pins, floral tape, foam, trimmers, cutters, shapers and other materials and tools.
- Maintains proper storage, stacking of flowers and ensuring they do not wilt or damage.
- Waters and maintains interior plants and foliage.

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, members/guests, vendors or employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Valid Florida Driver’s License with at least 3 years of clean driving motor vehicle history.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
