BASIC SUMMARY:

Security Supervisor has the primary responsibility of assisting the Security Manager with the effective day-to-day operations of safety/security services. Supervises the day-to-day operations of the evening security shifts to include the protection of physical assets, company property and personnel. This duty involves the direction, oversight, and evaluation of in-house security officers. Provides verbal and written feedback to the Security Manager and team members as appropriate. Reviews evening shift security reports and briefs the Security Manager on the findings. Patrol residential community and/or facilities to ensure the safety and security of residents, guests, staff, and property. Be prepared to handle emergency situations. This position requires a person with presence, integrity and initiative who can work independently as well as part of a team.

Shift is 2:00-10:00 p.m.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Primary trainer for new Security Officers.
  • Supervise evening Security operations, parking, and traffic enforcement within the Fiddler’s Creek Community.
  • Remain visible and interface directly with administration, residents, team members, and contractors in a manner which reflects our Service Standards.
  • Make security decisions in the absence of the Security Manager. Ensure security team members adhere to security procedures through constant evaluation and frequent patrol of the campus.
  • Knowledgeable of the electronic access control program, intrusion detection, and fire systems. Assist with the Parking Decal program, issuing decals to new team members, residents and maintaining database.
  • Prioritize the Community Patrol presence to enhance the safety and security of residents, guests, visitors, and team members.
  • Monitor Traffic Hawk system and provide reports of violations to the Security Manager.
    • Diligently monitor building video surveillance and access control systems.
    • Identify potential safety risks, security risks and undesirable conditions.
    • Randomly patrol the community being alert for suspicious activity and unauthorized vehicles and people.
    • Respond to calls for service from residents and/or team.
    • Assist the Director in the development and implementation of security policies, procedures, standards, and directives.
    • Monitor the community for compliance, such as open garage doors, lighting deficiencies, unauthorized entries, etc.
    • Promote safe Club & Spa work practices and implement preventive measures as needed.
    • Perform general security administrative duties.
    • Direct response to emergency situations including, but not limited to, safety hazards, fires, medical emergencies, and threats to life and/or property.
    • Perform duties as Access Control Officer as needed.
    • Assist in other duties as assigned by Security Manager or the Department Director.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Associate degree in a field related to the security industry and/or business management preferred.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a managerial capacity (law enforcement, military, or private security) preferred.
  • CPR/AED and First Aid certifications required.
  • Class D license is required.
  • Thorough knowledge of property, facilities, and surrounding areas.
  • Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, guests and team members, some of which will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger and collect accurate information.
  • Good organizational and communication skills.
  • Possess attention to detail.
  • Highly proficient in written and verbal English communication.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Work independently, with minimum supervision.
  • Effectively train team members.
  • Able to work a rotating schedule including weekends and holidays.
  • Available for on-call duty as a personal security detail for management, as needed.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ABILITY TO:

  • Grasp, lift, carry or transport up to 50 pounds.
  • Push/pull wheeled carts weighing up to 100 lbs.
  • Stand, walk frequently; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Perform duties of the job while exposed to sun and hot weather conditions for prolonged periods
  • Climb stairs and ladders at a rapid pace.
  • Express and exchange ideas by means of the spoken word accurately, loudly and quickly.
  • Perceive the nature of sounds at a normal speaking level and make fine discriminations in sound
  • Have visual acuity to determine accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned.
  • Withstand a moderate noise level in the work environment.
