Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Scribe and Medical Assistant for a busy Endocrinologist office. The Medical Scribe and Medical Assistant will work closely with physicians and healthcare providers to ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient encounters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Documentation: Accurately and thoroughly document patient medical histories, physical examinations, procedures, and treatment plans as dictated by healthcare providers.
- Data Entry: Enter patient information into the electronic health records (EHR) system with precision and in compliance with all relevant healthcare regulations.
- Assist with Examinations: Accompany healthcare providers during patient visits and assist with various medical procedures as needed.
- Transcription: Transcribe medical notes and dictations, ensuring all information is correctly recorded.
- Maintain EHR Integrity: Monitor and maintain the integrity and confidentiality of medical records, adhering to HIPAA and other privacy regulations.
- Communicate: Relay information between healthcare providers and patients, ensuring clarity and accuracy
- Assist with Administrative Tasks: Support the healthcare team with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and coordinating referrals.
- Compliance: Stay updated on and comply with all healthcare regulations, policies, and procedures.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's degree in a related field is a plus).
- Bilingual - English and Spanish
- Prior experience as a Medical Scribe or in a healthcare setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and the ability to learn quickly.
- Excellent typing and data entry skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems is a plus.
- Basic understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality.
- Thrives in a fast paced environment.
- Occasional cross coverage at another location may apply.
