Job Overview

Be Strong International is seeking an experienced Security Monitor to provide contracted security services for our after-school program in the school location stated in "Job Location". The Security Monitor will be responsible for delivering services that promote a safe and secure environment for students, staff, and visitors during designated program hours. This is a subcontractor position; the individual will operate under their own business or trade name, supply their own methods for service delivery, and work according to the terms of the contract agreement.


Additional Responsibilities and Deliverables: Scope of Work / Services to Be Provided: Service Schedule

The Security Monitor will provide the following services under this agreement:

  • Maintain a visible security presence on the premises during contracted service hours.
  • Monitor student safety during after-school activities and assist with orderly dismissal.
  • Oversee entry points to ensure only authorized individuals enter the premises; verify identification of unfamiliar visitors.
  • Conduct routine patrols of the campus and ensure access points are secure.
  • Identify and report hazards, safety issues, or security concerns to the Site Supervisor.
  • Provide timely reporting of accidents, incidents, or safety violations.
  • Utilize a two-way radio for communication while on duty.
  • Support safe and efficient parent pick-up processes.
  • Maintain awareness of and compliance with applicable safety and accessibility requirements.


Service Schedule

  • Contractor will provide services during agreed-upon after-school program hours, as stated in the contract.
  • Additional coverage (e.g., evenings, weekends, overnights) may be negotiated and agreed upon in writing.


Deliverables and Reporting

  • Submit accurate service hours as agreed in the contract.
  • Document incidents and submit reports as outlined in the scope of work.
  • Participate in an initial orientation to site-specific safety procedures.


Contractor Requirements

  • Operate as an independent contractor, providing services under your own business entity or as a self-employed professional.
  • Maintain necessary licenses, permits, or certifications to perform contracted security services in Florida.
  • Possess a valid high school diploma or equivalent; additional education in security or law enforcement preferred.
  • Ability to pass the MDCPS and/or BCPS Level II Background Check.
  • Strong communication skills; bilingual (Spanish or Creole) preferred.
  • Experience working with diverse populations; experience with youth or individuals with special needs is a plus.
  • Provide your own transportation to and from the worksite.
  • Maintain any tools or equipment necessary for providing services (e.g., flashlight, safety gear).
  • Ability to work in various environments and adapt to changing situations.

The Contractor is expected to:

  • Maintain professional conduct and treat all individuals respectfully.
  • Use prudent judgment in interactions with students and visitors.
  • Communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, when reporting incidents or hazards.
  • Anticipate and respond to security-related needs within the agreed scope of work.
  • Coordinate as necessary with site representatives to ensure safety and operational effectiveness.
  • Make timely, well-reasoned decisions in the interest of site safety.


Physical Requirements:

To perform the contracted services, the Contractor must be able to:

  • Sit, stand, walk, speak, and hear as needed during service hours.
  • Operate security equipment and communication devices.
  • Lift and move up to 30 pounds when necessary.
  • Work in various environmental conditions.
    Reasonable accommodations may be provided if agreed upon by both parties in accordance with applicable law.
