JOB SUMMARY:

The Pharmacy Support position provides the pharmacy team with administrative support and is responsible for contacting the dialysis clinic patients for refills, checking on status of the patients, documenting labs, documenting refill information and changes in patient status, and sorting paperwork. Provides excellent customer service and follows all company policies, practices and procedures.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduate of an accredited high school or having earned a GED certificate from an accredited institution.
  • Advanced knowledge of English, both verbal and written, including correct grammatical form is required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication including correct grammatical form.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to maintain relationships with both internal and external customers.
  • Detail orientated with exceptional planning, organizational, prioritizing and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision and, at the same time, as part of a diverse team.
  • Ability to initiate and present simple reports.
  • Excellent problem solving skills and ability to and follow-up when needed to assure that challenges are identified and resolved before escalation.
  • High level computer skills including use of Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, Word) and ability to learn company software programs (i.e., CPR+).
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to accommodate patient inquiries and concerns in an efficient and timely manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist the Pharmacy team with administrative support.
  • Make calls to patients as needed to verify information and refill requests.
  • Make call clinics as needed/scheduled to request labs, clinical notes and refill/shipping information.
  • Answer inbound calls from patients and clinics, and direct calls/questions to the appropriate team member.
  • Participate in cleanroom activities (cleaning, stocking) as assigned.
  • Organize, sort and bag compounding paperwork.
  • Scan compounding paperwork into pharmacy software system (i.e., CPR+).
  • Perform box checks, bin checks and delivery ticket checks as needed/assigned.
  • Communicate effectively with teammates within the pharmacy department as well as all other PCA departments (PCC, Billing, Sales, etc.).
  • Provide exceptional customer service to employees, patients, internal and external customers.
  • Keep abreast of new pharmacy technologies and practices.
  • Plan, prioritize and multitask to effectively manage frequent changes in a fast paced work environment.
  • Support the team culture within the organization by adhering to policies, practices and the Company’s mission statement.
  • Participate in Performance Improvement Quality Assurance activities, educational programs and departmental meetings.
  • Perform job responsibilities within established regulatory guidelines (HIPAA/ PHI) and reports non-complain activity to Compliance department; protects patient and company confidentiality in all matters.
  • Maintain knowledge of all regulatory requirements by attending in-service classes and annual HIPAA updates.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations, policies and procedures and accrediting body standards relating to the practice of pharmacy.
  • Report to work on time and ready to work; adheres to the company Dress Code by maintaining a professional appearance in appropriate attire.
  • Other duties as directed by business conditions or management directive.

Shift varies between 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM and 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM
