Position Summary
The Construction Project Manager oversees all phases of CPM Builders interior retail construction projects, from pre-construction through closeout. This role ensures that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, while maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of interior commercial retail construction projects, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and execution.
- Lead the pre-construction process, including estimating, scope definition, and project scheduling.
- Develop and manage project budgets, change orders, and cost tracking throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate daily with clients, architects, designers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure design intent and timelines are met.
- Oversee field operations and collaborate with superintendents to maintain efficient job-site performance and safety compliance.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, quality, and adherence to company standards.
- Prepare and deliver project status reports, meeting minutes, and progress updates to clients and company leadership.
- Manage procurement and scheduling of materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, conflicts, and potential delays.
- Ensure all work complies with OSHA regulations, building codes, and CPM Builders safety policies.
- Lead project closeout, including punch list completion, final inspections, and client handoff.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in construction management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 57 years of project management experience in interior commercial or retail construction.
- Proven track record of managing multiple fast-paced retail buildouts simultaneously.
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, MEP coordination, and finish trade integration.
- Proficiency with project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project, Bluebeam, or similar).
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and contracts.
- Strong financial management and negotiation skills.
- OSHA 30 certification preferred.
- Willingness to travel to job sites as needed.
