SUMMARY
We are looking for a self-motivated Chemical Plant Operator. The Chemical Operator can expect to work as an integral part of the production team and may be responsible for retrieving, weighing, and mixing chemical ingredients, monitoring equipment during the chemical process, repairing machinery if problems arise, recording information about equipment and compounds, and assisting in the planning and improvement of processes or products. They will also be expected to comply with all company, local, state, and federal safety and quality regulations and report any concerns, violations, or accidents. This is a full time, career-oriented job with benefits. The work is both physically and technically challenging. Hazardous chemical handling in a chemical manufacturing environment. Experience with chemicals or manufacturing is preferred, but not required. Strong physical skills needed also, with handling of 55-gallon barrels, tools, etc. We manufacture in accordance with ISO 9001 standards.
Currently all shifts available.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following:
- Responsible for complying with all environmental regulations including hazardous waste
- Ensure hazardous waste containers are properly labeled, covered, and staged
- Using information on work order and batch sheets, collects all required materials and measures or weighs as required for proper formulation
- Work from written, verbal or visual instructions
- Load chemical process equipment with necessary materials
- Observe rate of speed and process to insure proper operation
- Observe and follow all safety related procedures while in the work environment
- Gather raw materials
- Check completed batches for compliance with formulation specifications
- Make minor mechanical adjustments or assess malfunctions and notify supervisor
- Observe and follow all safety related procedures while in the work environment
- Drive a forklift
