Job Summary:


The MTSS Coordinator at The SEED School of Miami leads the design, implementation, and monitoring of a comprehensive Multi-Tiered System of Supports that promotes academic, behavioral, and social-emotional success for all students. This role serves as the bridge between academic and student support teams, ensuring data-informed decision-making, early intervention, and equitable access to supports. The coordinator collaborates closely with school leadership, teachers, and support staff to build capacity, drive progress monitoring, and ensure high-quality Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 interventions. Through leadership, systems thinking, and attention to detail, the MTSS Coordinator helps to ensure that we are meeting the needs of diverse learners.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and refinement of SEED Miami’s MTSS framework, aligned with state and network guidelines.
  • Facilitate the effective use of data to identify students in need of academic, behavioral, and SEL interventions.
  • Ensure MTSS processes are culturally responsive and grounded in equity and student-centered practices.
  • Coordinate universal screeners (e.g., FAST, MAP) and ensure consistent benchmarking practices.
  • Develops and maintains student intervention tracking tools and monitors fidelity of implementation.
  • Lead regular MTSS meetings to review student progress, analyze data trends, and adjust support plans.
  • Conduct observations and support the implementation of evidence-based Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions across
  • academic and behavioral domains.
  • Collaborate with ESE/ESOL staff, counselors, and teachers to align supports.
  • Ensure documentation of intervention plans, progress, and family communication is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Train and coach staff on MTSS procedures, progress monitoring tools, and intervention strategies.
  • Serve as the chair of the MTSS team and facilitate data meetings for problem-solving. Support integration of MTSS into professional learning communities (PLCs) and school-wide systems.
  • Ensure MTSS documentation meets state, district, and SEED Network compliance requirements. Builds trust with diverse stakeholders through transparent, empathetic, and culturally competent communication. Facilitating productive conversations between staff, families, and support teams, ensuring student-centered collaboration and shared ownership of outcomes.
  • Designs and promotes interventions that reflect a deep understanding of
  • trauma, identity, language, and lived experience, particularly for historically underserved populations.
  • Partner with families to communicate student progress and build collaborative intervention plans.
  • Serve as liaison between school teams and external service providers as needed.
  • Attend any job-related professional development.
  • Other duties as required or as assigned by the Head of School.

Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership or equivalent experience in related fields, with training and/or experience
  • In child and adolescent development and adult learning.
  • Administrative certification (preferred)
  • 3 - 5 years of experience as a leader of an educational community, including but not limited to a residential, boarding school or overnight camping program, and teaching experience.
  • 3 - 5 years demonstrated success in working with urban adolescents and youth in a diverse high school educational setting

  • 3 - 5 years of management and supervisory experience leading a diverse staff of a minimum of 25 staff members with
  • at least 4 – 6 direct reports. (preferred)
