We are a private practice multidisciplinary clinic dedicated to providing comprehensive care for children with diverse developmental needs. Our team consists of dedicated professionals including psychologists, speech-language pathologists, and occupational therapists. We do not take insurance.
We are seeking a skilled Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to join our team on a part-time or full-time contract basis. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), learning disabilities, and other developmental needs. The candidate must be willing and able to commute to provide in-school and in-clinic therapy.
Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Occupational Therapy Assistance from an accredited program.
- Successful completion of the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
- Current Florida state licensure as an Occupational Therapy Assistant
- 0-3 years of experience with pediatric clients is preferred
- Superior interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail
- Pass a level II background check
In this role, you will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide therapeutic services to children with various developmental, physical, and cognitive challenges. You will work closely with our Occupational Therapist to implement personalized treatment plans and focus on helping children develop the skills required for daily living and participation in meaningful activities/occupations.
Responsibilities
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
- Assist in the implementation of individualized therapy plans designed by the Occupational Therapist.
- Conduct therapy sessions with children, focusing on developing fine motor skills, sensory integration, executive functioning, emotional regulation, etc.
- Monitor and document the progress of each child, providing feedback and updates to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
- Collaborate closely with parents, caregivers, and educators to support the child's therapeutic goals and overall development.
