Job Title: Production Planner / Administrator

Summary: The Production Planner / Administrator provides information and assistance to sales department for the purchasing of inventory to meet customer requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

* Maintain backorders for parts needed to be shipped out when received from vendors.

* Pick and print work orders for warehouse picking department

* Contact potential vendors to obtain best price quotations

* Prepare purchase orders from information given from the purchasing manager

* Obtain purchased items by forwarding orders to suppliers; monitoring and expediting orders.

* Create and send purchase orders to vendors. Confirms vendor confirmation with submitted P.O.’s.

* Expedite parts and components for customer pull in requests

* Update delivery schedules as needed for orders from customer requests.

* Provide information and assistance to the sales department regarding purchasing lead time and approximate cost of items

* Verifies receipt of items by comparing items received to items ordered; resolves shipments in error with suppliers.

* Keeps information accessible by sorting and filing documents.

Requirements and Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability needed

* Read, write and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.

* Write reports and business correspondence on the computer

* Effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and customers.

* Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

* Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.

* Ability to deal with problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations.

Education and/or Experience:

* High school diploma / College

* One to Three years of related experience and/or training

* Knowledge with the use of standard office equipment such as computers. Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, and spreadsheets.

Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment. The noise level is low.

* Annual performance appraisals given to all employees
