Tri-Co Communications, a Motorola Solutions Inc. Manufacturer Representative and Elite Service Partner is currently searching for a Field Service Technician.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to assist our customer base by implementing, maintaining, and repairing both business-critical and mission-critical communications at a subscriber (radio) and infrastructure level. Field Service Technicians are responsible for the implementation of Motorola Solutions' two-way communications products. The Field Service department is on call 24/7/365 to support mission-critical systems for our public safety customers.

Responsibilities include the optimization and support of complex communication systems.

  • Experience as a Communications System Technician

  • Experience with P25 Systems, LMR RF systems, wired/wireless communication systems, networking equipment, IT networks, and subscriber equipment.

  • Experience with the installation of mobile radios into various locations (vehicles, rack equipment, and custom configurations).

  • Experience running cables throughout buildings.

  • Experience removing and installing antenna systems on the exterior of buildings.

  • Ability to attend and participate in large-scale preventative maintenance checks on end-user vehicles and communication equipment.

  • Experience installing camera/security system is a plus, but not required.

  • Must be able to successfully pass and maintain the ability to pass background checks and obtain security clearances as well as possess and maintain a clean driving record.

  • Ability to be on-call 24/7/365

  • Must be highly computer literate with proficiency in Google Suite of products (Drive, Gmail, Sheets, Docs).

  • Must have strong self-management skills and “people” skills to work closely with Motorola’s customers and subcontractor partner community, as well as Motorola Sales, Engineering, Project Management, and customer service teams.

  • Must be self-motivated and self-managed to perform the required duties at a distance from direct supervision.

  • Must be able to solve customer problems quickly during stressful situations

  • Experience in the configuration and testing of Motorola's two-way radio and subscriber products.

  • FCC license and industry certifications such as ETA are a plus.
