Responsibilities
  • This position provides high-volume data processing support to facilitate the timely evaluation of incoming transfer credit requests and maintain efficient workflow within the Transfer Credit Section of Undergraduate Studies.
  • Monitor a queue of transfer courses lacking established equivalencies ("no rule" courses) for currently enrolled students and research potential institutional course equivalents. Compile recommended equivalencies and documentation for review and approval. Create and maintain catalog entries for approved course equivalencies.
  • Process course equivalency decisions from academic departments, faculty evaluators, and Transfer Credit Section Lead for general education. Update institutional transfer credit databases and catalogs to reflect newly approved equivalencies for both current and prospective students. Update student records to reflect approved transfer credit, including general education and elective coursework.
  • Assist with maintenance of Florida public institution and out-of-state transfer catalogs. Identify and correct data inconsistencies or errors in catalog records. Post transfer credit to student records in accordance with institutional policies and timelines.
  • Assist the Academic Section with preparation of student file materials, including creating folder labels and recording relevant academic information. Document significant student communications by posting detailed notes in Campus Connect.

Qualifications

High school and four years experience or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to four years.

  • Customer service experience.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, parents, supervisors, and interdepartmental personnel.
  • Ability to interpret and explain policies to students, parents, faculty, and staff.
  • Attention to detail and the highest standard of integrity are imperative.
  • Excellent computer, creative problem-solving, written and communication skills are essential.
  • Must have the unique ability to deal with people calmly, confidently and with complete objectivity.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of university academic programs and policies.
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of academic program planning, development, and evaluation.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs.
  • Basic office experience including filing practices.
  • Experience must be related to the duties of the position, i.e., Communication, computer skills, and policy knowledge.
  • Sensitivity in handling access to sensitive data.

Anticipated Salary Range

Starting in the high $30,000's to mid $40,000's, commensurate with education and experience.
