Summary
Telephone triage APRNs diagnose and treat acute, episodic, or chronic illness, independently or as part of a healthcare team. May focus on health promotion and disease prevention. APRNs work under the direct supervision of a physician unless the autonomous license is active.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform evaluations on patients using telehealth and ensure preventative procedures take place.
- Diagnose and treats illnesses or injuries.
- Prescribe medication under the direct supervision of the attending MD if apply.
- Order, performs, and interprets diagnostic tests.
- Counsel patients on diet, hygiene, and preventive healthcare.
- Implement a plan of treatment, including diagnostic studies results.
- Determine final diagnosis.
- Work with staff to ensure that the medical needs of the patients are met.
- Ensure that the patient meets the medical admission criteria.
- Act as liaison with other physicians.
- Participate in the Quality Assurance of the medical documentation.
- Participate in the utilization review of the billing process.
- Directly supervise the work of Disease management medical assistants.
- Keep medical record documentation according to the State and Federal regulations and their guidelines.
- Participate in preparation of super bills.
- Perform duties in honest and ethical manner.
- Follow workflows created for telephone triage.
- Work at the Medical Center level if needed including Saturdays
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education/Experience:
- Must be licensed to practice medicine in the state of Florida as an APRN.
- At least (1) years of experience as a licensed APRN.
- Foreign Doctor
- Experience with Telehealth
- Clinical Skills with adults and pediatric patients

- Use relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards.
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines and standard accepted practices

- Bilingual skills preferred (English/Spanish or English/Creole)
