Salary Range: $16.50-$18.00

We are seeking a Special Needs Classroom Assistant to join our dedicated education team. This role is perfect for someone with a compassionate spirit, strong work ethic, and a desire to make a meaningful difference every single day.
About the Role
As a Special Needs Classroom Assistant, you will work closely with special educators and therapists to support students in both their learning and daily care. You will provide one-on-one and small-group support, assist with classroom activities, and help students with personal care needs in a respectful, nurturing environment.
This position is hands-on, active, and deeply rewarding. A Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) background is a plus but not required.
What You’ll Do
- Support classroom instruction and help implement lesson plans and goals
- Provide one-on-one and small group behavioral and instructional support
- Assist students with daily living needs including toileting, feeding, hygiene, and mobility
- Help create a safe, clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment
- Participate in program activities including CPR and First Aid training
- Support transportation needs, including riding on bus routes and driving agency vehicles as scheduled
- Assist with snack and meal times, including preparation and clean-up
- Maintain accurate documentation, logs, and reports
- Uphold confidentiality and follow all organizational policies and procedures
- Contribute to extended day programming by helping plan engaging daily activities
- Work collaboratively with educators, families, and support staff to foster student growth
What We’re Looking For
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience working with children and/or individuals with developmental disabilities preferred
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to multitask, stay organized, and work independently when needed
- Compassionate, patient, and respectful approach to student care
- Ability to pass background checks and meet a drug-free workplace requirement
- Physical ability to lift, carry, and assist students as required
