Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and reliable Rough Carpenter to join our backside facilities team. The ideal candidate will be proficient in all aspects of rough carpentry, including framing, sheathing, and foundation work. They will be responsible for repairing barns, stables, and other various structures. A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and commitment to safety are essential for this role.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Construct, erect, and repair wooden frameworks and structures, including walls, floors, roofs, and door/window frames.
- Install sheathing, siding, and subfloors.
- Cut, shape, and install wood and other materials.
- Work with various hand and power tools, including saws, hammers, and nail guns.
- Ensure all work meets quality standards and building codes.
- Collaborate with other team members, including project managers and other tradespeople.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred; completion of a carpentry apprenticeship program is a plus.
- Proven experience as a rough carpenter or similar role.
- Solid knowledge of carpentry techniques and methods.
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents is a plus but is not required.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy materials.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Commitment to safety protocols.
- Adherence to safety protocols is essential when working with heavy machinery.
