Job Summary
We are seeking a cake decorator/pastry assistant to join the team at our busy bakery! In this role, you will prepare a variety of cakes and pastries. You will be responsible for opening the bakery in the morning and prepping for the day ahead. The ideal candidate has previous bakery experience and a passion for creating delicious cakes and pastries. If you are creative, hardworking, and want to share your tasty creations with customers, wed like to hear from you!
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Open the bakery and prepare for the day ahead/or later shift available
- Clean and sanitize equipment and baking areas
- Bake a variety of cakes and pastries
- Decorate cakes
- Prepare custom orders
- Track, maintain, and order inventory as necessary
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a baker, cake decorator, pastry chef, or in a similar role is preferred
- Ability to use professional-grade kitchen appliances and equipment
- Knowledge of food safety practices
- Previous experience decorating cakes
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Team player
- Available for early morning shifts
