Position Overview
The Assistant Project Manager supports the Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and executing construction projects, with a focus on BIM coordination, documentation, and cross-discipline collaboration. This role bridges the gap between the field, design, and project management teams, ensuring constructability, coordination, and accurate project information throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
BIM / VDC Responsibilities
- Develop, manage, and maintain BIM models using Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks
- Perform clash detection and coordination reviews; track and resolve conflicts with project teams
- Support constructability reviews and sequencing through model-based analysis
- Coordinate BIM efforts between design teams, subcontractors, and field operations
- Maintain model version control and ensure alignment with current drawings and specifications
- Assist with creation of 2D drawings, details, and exhibits derived from BIM models
- Support field teams with model-based visuals and coordination support
Project Management Support
- Assist the Project Manager with day-to-day project execution, scheduling, and coordination
- Support RFIs, submittals, change orders, and document control
- Coordinate with subcontractors, consultants, and vendors to maintain project momentum
- Track procurement, long-lead items, and scope responsibilities
- Attend project meetings and manage follow-up action items
- Assist with project closeout documentation (as-builts, O&Ms, warranties)
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field
- 2–5 years of experience in construction project management, BIM/VDC, or related roles
- Strong proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks
- Working knowledge of construction means and methods
- Experience with construction management software (e.g., Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Bluebeam)
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment
