Looking for an experienced legal assistant who is able to:
- File legal documents with family courts (e-filing and physical filing).
- Maintain case files and calendars, ensuring deadlines are tracked and met.
- Manage calendars, deadlines, and appointments related to legal cases.
- Schedule court hearings, mediations, and appointments.
- Draft correspondence to opposing counsel, courts, and clients.
- Ensure all documents are properly sorted and easy to locate, and perform other administrative duties as needed.
- Assist clients with the production of financial discovery documentation
Qualifications:
- 3 + years of experience as a paralegal in family law.
- Associate’s degree, bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Excellent client communication skills.
- High emotional intelligence and empathy when dealing with sensitive client matters to fit our work culture.
- Familiarity with local, state, legal terminology, court rules, and federal family law court procedures.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and case management software
- Strong diligence and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Fluent in English and Spanish.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with legal billing or time tracking.
- Notary Public (optional but beneficial).
