Job Description

The Engineering Test Technician will join the Environmental Test Group within the Structural and Environmental Laboratories at our Orlando, Florida facility. This role is critical in supporting research, development, and production programs across MFC by performing environmental simulation testing in accordance with program-specific and MIL-STD requirements. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, executing, and documenting a variety of tests, including vibration, shock, and climatic exposure, to validate hardware performance under simulated environmental conditions.


Key Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and maintain environmental test equipment, including vibration shakers, shock test machines, and climatic chambers.
  • Safely handle, install, and secure test hardware onto test fixtures and equipment.
  • Execute environmental tests according to customer specifications, program requirements, and military standards (MIL-STD).
  • Monitor tests, collect data, and document results using standardized reporting tools.
  • Collaborate with engineers to interpret test requirements and adjust test parameters as needed.
  • Perform routine calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of test equipment.
  • Ensure all testing activities comply with safety, quality, and security protocols.
  • Support continuous improvement of test processes and procedures.


Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent, with a demonstrated interest in hands-on testing and hardware evaluation.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience using MS Office/Windows in a technical or industrial setting.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with hand tools, including torque wrenches, T-handles, ratchets, and other mechanical fastening tools.
  • Physical ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and move around large machinery.
  • Ability to learn and apply electromechanical principles, including understanding electronic controls and sensor signal generation.
  • Must be capable of obtaining an ATF Explosives License.
  • Strong attention to detail, commitment to safety, and ability to follow detailed technical procedures.


Desired Qualifications

  • Experience operating powered tools (electric and pneumatic).
  • Previous experience as a test technician in an aerospace or defense environmental test laboratory.
  • Familiarity with vibration shakers, shock test machines, and climatic chambers.
  • Experience with vibration control software and PID temperature controllers.
  • Current DoD Secret security clearance.
  • Current ATF Possessor’s License.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and experience with electromechanical instrumentation.
