MAINTENANCE ASSOCIATE

We are a Fort Lauderdale–based commercial real estate company seeking a Maintenance Associate to be based out of our Little Haiti office in Miami. This role is ideal for a hands-on individual with general maintenance experience who takes pride in maintaining safe, clean, and fully functional properties. The Maintenance Associate will work closely with management and vendors to ensure maintenance issues are addressed efficiently, promptly, and in accordance with company standards.

Based on qualifications and performance, this position may be eligible for advancement to a Maintenance Lead or Maintenance Manager role, if available.

The Maintenance Associate is responsible for performing routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections across assigned properties. This role supports property operations by ensuring buildings, equipment, and grounds are properly maintained and compliant with safety standards.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

· Perform general maintenance and repairs including basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, drywall, and minor flooring work

· Respond to maintenance requests and work orders in a timely manner

· Conduct routine inspections of buildings, systems, and common areas to identify needed repairs or safety concerns

· Assist with unit turnovers, including repairs, touch-ups, and preparation for occupancy

· Coordinate with vendors and contractors as needed and assist with on-site supervision

· Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance areas in an organized and safe condition

· Follow all safety procedures, company policies, and local regulations

· Document completed work and communicate updates to management

Skills and Qualifications

· Prior experience in maintenance, facilities, or property management preferred

· Working knowledge of general building systems and repairs

· Ability to troubleshoot issues and work independently when required

· Strong organizational and time management skills

· Ability to manage multiple tasks and respond proactively to maintenance needs

· Good verbal communication skills

· Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment

· Basic computer skills preferred

· Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license preferred

· Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

· Certifications such as EPA Section 608, OSHA 10/30, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or other facilities-related certifications are preferred but not required

· Fluent in English required.
