Responsibilities

Bayonet Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning is hiring a Certified Backflow Technician to support backflow testing, repair, and installation services in Fort Myers, Florida. This role ensures compliance with Florida DEP regulations and local water utility Cross-Connection Control programs.

Responsibilities

  • Test and certify backflow prevention assemblies

  • Repair or replace failed devices

  • Install backflow assemblies per Florida Plumbing Code

  • Submit accurate test reports to water utilities and municipalities

  • Provide professional customer service in the field


Qualifications

Requirements

  • Active Florida Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester Certification

  • Valid Florida driver’s license

  • Ability to work independently in a field-based role

Preferred

  • Plumbing license or plumbing experience

  • Municipal, commercial, or industrial backflow experience

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and climb for extended periods

  • Ability to work in confined spaces (vaults, pits, mechanical rooms)

  • Ability to work outdoors in Florida weather conditions, including heat and humidity

  • Ability to use hand tools and backflow testing equipment

  • Ability to wear required PPE (safety boots, gloves, eye and high-visibility protection)

  • Visual and auditory ability sufficient to read gauges, complete documentation, and communicate safely
