As a Staff Attorney in our Homeless Legal Rights Project, you’ll advocate for individuals experiencing homelessness on a wide variety of civil and administrative legal issues. This includes direct representation in areas such as:

Family law (e.g., simple divorce, child support modification, name changes)

Immigration (I-90, N-400, I-130 with or without I-485, I-821, I-765, FOIA requests)

Social Security Disability/SSI benefits

Driver’s license reinstatement

Other critical public benefit and civil matters
You’ll provide legal services at homeless shelters throughout Broward County, helping remove the legal barriers that keep individuals from achieving housing stability and self-sufficiency.
Key Responsibilities

Conduct interviews and legal consultations at shelters and outreach sites

Carry and manage a full, active caseload

Draft pleadings, motions, and legal correspondence

Represent clients in hearings, administrative proceedings, and court

Collaborate with internal staff, community partners, and volunteers

Maintain detailed case records and compliance documentation

Participate in outreach and education efforts across the county
Qualifications
- Licensed to practice law in Florida (Required)
- Entry-level attorneys welcome; training and mentorship provided
- Experience serving low-income or homeless populations preferred
