Job Description

The Opportunity

At Next Perimeter, we have moved beyond the traditional "break-fix" MSP model. We are a Cloud-First, Identity-First firm that believes servers belong in data centers, not in our clients' closets.

We are looking for a Solutions Engineer to serve as the "Universal Translator" between our technical standards and our clients' business goals. This is a hybrid role for a technologist who loves to build but understands the business value of what they are building. You will split your time between scoping strategic solutions (Architecture), executing high-level cloud implementations (Engineering), and advising clients on security maturity (Advisory).

You will report directly to the Head of Strategy while working closely with Service Delivery to ensure that every project we scope is profitable, standardized, and technically sound.

What You Will Do

1. Be the Technical "Gatekeeper"

  • Own the technical scoping for new business and existing client projects. You are the final approval on whether a solution is technically viable before a quote is sent.
  • Eliminate "sales vaporware." You ensure that hours, licensing, and technical dependencies are accurately estimated so our delivery team succeeds.

2. Execute "Deep Work" Implementations

  • Perform high-level remediation and modernization work. We aren't racking servers; we are deploying Intune configurations, hardening Entra ID tenants, and rolling out SASE policies.
  • You will have protected time blocks for focused engineering work, separate from your advisory duties.

3. Lead Technical Strategy & QBRs

  • Partner with Account Management to lead the technical portion of Quarterly Business Reviews.
  • Audit client environments against our "Next Perimeter Blueprint." You will identify risks (e.g., legacy authentication, shadow IT) and translate them into a clear "Red/Green" roadmap for the client.

4. Drive Standardization

  • Act as the guardian of our technical stack. You identify when clients are drifting from our standards and design the path to bring them back to compliance.
  • Update our technical blueprints and scoping templates based on real-world data from your implementations.

The Tech Stack

We're looking for mastery (or deep proficiency) in the modern Microsoft & Security stack. We do not manage legacy on-premise infrastructure for the vast majority of our fleet.

  • Identity: Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Conditional Access.
  • Endpoint: Microsoft Intune (Autopilot, Configuration Profiles, Compliance Policies).
  • Ops: NinjaOne (RMM), HaloPSA.

Who You Are

  • You are an "Outcome Engineer." You don't just close tickets; you care about why the issue happened and how to automate it away forever.
  • You have "Consultant" DNA. You can sit in a room with a CEO and explain why they need to upgrade to Business Premium without getting lost in technical jargon.
  • You value Deep Work. You understand that switching context between sales calls and complex engineering kills productivity, and you respect the schedule blocks designed to prevent that.
  • You are Detail-Obsessed. You believe that a missed line item in a scope creates a headache for your team later, so you measure twice and cut once.

Why Join Us?

  • Mature Operations: We run on EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System). We have clear accountability charts, structured meetings, and a leadership team that respects process.
  • No "Hero" Culture: We don't want you working 60-hour weeks. We want you to build systems that allow us all to go home on time.
  • Career Velocity: You will be working directly with leadership on the cutting edge of the MSP industry-moving from "Managed Services" to "Revenue Operations" and "Security Compliance."
