Job Description

Gift Shop and Village Supervisor oversees all daily operations inside the store and Village which includes supervising staff, inventory and visual merchandising expectations, and providing excellent customer service to meet sales goals. The Gift Shop Supervisor primary responsibilities are training and coaching staff, addressing customer problems or issues, managing operational functions such as opening/closing, and maintaining the store's visual presentation. Gift Shop Supervisor will also serve as communication bridge between the staff and the management by linking operational functions to what the company expects in terms of policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Staff Supervision: Train, coach, and develop staff to meet the goals and objectives for sales and service. Discipline staff appropriately if necessary and address instances of poor performance or complaints.
  • Daily Operations: Manage the completeness of daily operations for the Gift Shop, e.g., opening and closing, proper staff scheduling, safety, and cleanliness.
  • Inventory & Merchandising: Monitor inventory levels and control of merchandise display with responsibility for price accuracy and proper stocking of merchandise.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service and help manage customer inquiries and complaints with tact and professionalism. Set a positive tone to create an enjoyable atmosphere when customers enter the store.
  • Sales & Performance: Monitor sales performance based against goals and objectives. Provide feedback to the management team to improve performance.
  • Store Appearance: Ensure that the overall appearance of the store continues to meet expectations with respect to visual display, cleanliness and orderliness of the working environment.
  • Communication: Gift Shop and Village Supervisor also serves as a communication bridge between staff, management and the Lawmaker Office. Both groups need to stay current with all Gift Shop activities and issues that arise through business operations.
