Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related field, active Deaf &amp; Hard of Hearing (DHH) certification, and 1+ years Deaf &amp; Hard of Hearing Specialist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. 
Charlotte County Public Schools is hiring a Deaf &amp; Hard of Hearing (DHH) Teacher in North Port, Florida for the 20252026 school year. This itinerant position offers full-time, on-site instruction and consultation across district campuses.
Key Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>
Provide services to about 20 students district-wide
</li>
<li>
Offer monthly consults for 7 students; direct instruction for the rest
</li>
<li>
Support students in their least restrictive environment
</li>
<li>
Collaborate with educators, therapists, parents, and administrators
</li>
<li>
Maintain IEP documentation and student progress records
</li>
</ul>
Requirements:
<ul>
<li>
Valid Florida Deaf &amp; Hard of Hearing certification
</li>
<li>
Degree in Deaf Education or equivalent experience
</li>
<li>
Prior school-based or special education experience preferred
</li>
<li>
Strong interpersonal and organization skills
</li>
</ul>
