Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related field, active Deaf & Hard of Hearing (DHH) certification, and 1+ years Deaf & Hard of Hearing Specialist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Charlotte County Public Schools is hiring a Deaf & Hard of Hearing (DHH) Teacher in North Port, Florida for the 20252026 school year. This itinerant position offers full-time, on-site instruction and consultation across district campuses.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide services to about 20 students district-wide

Offer monthly consults for 7 students; direct instruction for the rest

Support students in their least restrictive environment

Collaborate with educators, therapists, parents, and administrators

Maintain IEP documentation and student progress records
Requirements:

Valid Florida Deaf & Hard of Hearing certification

Degree in Deaf Education or equivalent experience

Prior school-based or special education experience preferred

Strong interpersonal and organization skills
