Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Blazer Jobs is currently seeking a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH Teacher) for a full-time, on-site contract with a school district partner in Port Saint Lucie, FL, for the 20252026 school year. This is an excellent opportunity for educators passionate about accessibility, language development, and supporting students with hearing needs in a collaborative environment.

Compensation & Benefits

Local Candidates:

  • Hourly pay: $39$45/hour

  • Weekly direct deposit

Travel Candidates:

  • Weekly gross: $1,432$1,567

  • Housing and meals stipends (tax-free if eligible)

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct and consultative instructional services for students with hearing impairments

  • Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to meet students communication and learning needs

  • Collaborate with teachers, interpreters, and related service providers

  • Participate in IEP meetings and help develop individualized student plans

  • Monitor and document student progress per district and state requirements

Requirements

  • Valid Florida teaching certification with DHH endorsement (or eligibility)

  • Previous school-based experience preferred

  • Proficiency in ASL and/or auditory-oral methods a plus

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

  • Commitment to student-centered instruction
