Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Supporting students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing requires specialized knowledge and a mitment to fostering inclusive educational environments. This role involves educating K-12 students with hearing impairments, helping them achieve academic success and develop strong munication skills.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Certification or licensure in Teaching Students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Experience working with K-12 students across diverse grade levels
- Proficiency in munication methods including American Sign Language (ASL) or other relevant techniques
- Ability to design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with families, therapists, and other educators
Location:
- Stuart, Florida
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction and support to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Assess student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly
- Foster a positive and accessible learning environment
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to address student needs
- Provide munication support and advocacy for students within the school munity
