Senior Estimator – Shell & Masonry Contractor

Location: Coconut Grove, FL

Position Type: Full-Time

Travel Required: No

Reports To: CEO


Position Overview

We are looking for a Shell and Masonry Contractor Estimator who will deliver accurate, detailed cost estimates for construction projects. This role requires expertise in materials, labor, and construction processes, with a strong focus on masonry and shell components.


Key Responsibilities

  • Project Analysis: Review project plans and specifications to determine shell and masonry requirements.
  • Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed cost breakdowns for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractors.
  • Vendor & Subcontractor Coordination: Solicit and analyze bids to ensure accurate, competitive pricing.
  • Quantity Takeoffs: Execute detailed takeoffs for all masonry and shell components.
  • Budget Development: Support project budgets and provide cost-effective recommendations.
  • Proposal Preparation: Draft and present client proposals, outlining scope, costs, and timelines.
  • Collaboration: Partner with project managers, architects, engineers, and clients for alignment.
  • Market Research: Stay informed on industry trends, materials, and labor costs.
  • Documentation: Maintain thorough records of estimates and proposals.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience as an Estimator in shell/masonry construction.
  • Proficiency in estimating tools (Bluebeam, Onscreen Takeoff, or similar).
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, building codes, and regulations.
  • Excellent analytical, mathematical, and negotiation skills.
  • Attention to detail with the ability to work under pressure.


Preferred Skills:

  • Project management or construction supervision experience.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar design software.
  • Estimating certifications preferred.
