We are seeking compassionate, detail-oriented, and proactive Oncology Medical Assistant to join our dedicated oncology team. This position will be responsible for performing administrative and clinical tasks, while delivering outstanding customer service and maintaining compassionate, patient engagement. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our program. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, clinical knowledge, and a commitment to providing excellent care to oncology patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Care: Assist patients by preparing them for examinations, including taking vitals, updating medical history, and providing emotional support. Gathering and verifying information.
- Administrative Duties: Schedule patient appointments, manage patient intake, and maintain accurate patient records in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Support Services: Act as a liaison between patients, their families, and the oncology care team, ensuring all questions and concerns are addressed.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent. BLS Certification AND completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program are required.
- Certification: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred.
- Experience: At least 1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting, with experience in oncology.
Skills:
- Knowledge of oncology terminology and procedures.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and EHR systems.
- Compassionate, with a deep understanding of the challenges faced by oncology patients.
