Supervisor II, Laboratory (Auto-Chemistry) | DIRECT HIRE/PERMANENT
Location: DeLand, FL
Compensation: $37.50 – $51.73 per hour, commensurate with experience
Schedule: Tuesday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM, with one Saturday shift every 12–13 weeks
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced and licensed Laboratory Supervisor to oversee the Auto-Chemistry department at a high-volume reference laboratory. This position is responsible for supervising multiple lab functions, including workflow management, teammate guidance, and compliance with testing standards. This is an onsite, leadership-focused role with direct reports, offering a dynamic and mission-driven environment in clinical diagnostics.
Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day operations in the Auto-Chemistry lab section
- Ensure compliance with quality assurance procedures and lab policies
- Provide oversight and training support to staff
- Monitor lab performance metrics and identify process improvement opportunities
- Supervise employment activity (hiring, evaluations, performance management)
- Maintain documentation in line with company policy and regulatory requirements
- Coordinate staffing plans and delegate tasks effectively
- Ensure appropriate coverage during absences and cover work benches as needed
- Participate in the lab’s quality improvement and safety programs
- Collaborate in developing and updating SOPs and training programs
- Maintain compliance with regulatory and accrediting standards
Requirements
- 6–8 years of experience as a Medical Technologist or Laboratory Supervisor
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Biological Sciences, or related field
- Florida Supervisor’s License in Chemistry
- Certification from a professional laboratory certifying agency (ASCP, AMT, etc.)
- Experience in high-volume reference labs is preferred
