About the Role:

Aparicio-Levy Technical College is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable instructor to be able to teach Applied Cybersecurity and join our Career and Technical Education (CTE) team. This role is ideal for individuals who are committed to preparing students for high-demand careers in cybersecurity and information technology.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging and hands-on instruction in cybersecurity principles, practices, and tools.
• Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with Florida DOE curriculum framework.
• Teach foundational and advanced cybersecurity concepts including network security, ethical hacking, and digital forensics.
• Prepare students for industry-recognized certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Network+, and more.
• Design engaging, hands-on labs and simulations that reflect current industry practices.
• Collaborate with industry partners to ensure curriculum relevance and job readiness.
• Support student success through mentorship, career guidance, and skill development.

Qualifications:

• Required:
  • Currently have or willingness and ability to get a Valid Florida Teaching Certification within 3 years of employment.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in the field of cybersecurity.
• Preferred:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related discipline.
  • Experience with instructional technology and virtual labs.
  • Industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA, CISSP, CEH) are a plus.
